Crazy and fun….that’s what I would call for this round. My purpose for this event actually to test out my car as my engine had some problem with shims popping out during the last event in Formula Drift Malaysia. It happened twice actually in a week.

Therefore, I am more concern on making sure the engine is properly built this round so that it will not give me the problem again. Too much time and effort had been put in.

I had Johanna with me this round as well in which gives me very little practice on Saturday. But she had been an angel and took quiet a long nap that enables me to have some good practice runs andsome tandem practice with Ariff.

Here’s a video from one of our SODA’s student that follow us behind, great job !

I qualified at 28th place out of a total of 50+ drivers which I am not so pleased with it. I could have done better. It is not the speed I have to get use it but also to be able to hug the rear clipping zone is something I have to work on to be able to qualify in the top 16 group in the next event.

My tandem with Wei Chek (Driving a Toyota TE71 lift-back) was fun! I managed to keep a 5/5 out of the 2 runs which the judge call it a OMT (One More Time)! I didn’t expect it as I thought I am done for the day as he was keeping really close with me from what I see and my car is just so heavy to pull away from him.

On our second tandem battle, I did a slight mistake by having too much angle from the 1st rear clipping zone towards the 2nd rear clipping zone which slows down my car tremendously. During my lead run, I try to drift as much as I can and then again I had too much angle at the rear clipping zones and he caught up very fast with his lighten Toyota TE71 lift-back. And Wei Chek takes the win.

Which means I am only placed 28th this round. Nevertheless, I am confident my engine is doing fine now and will be looking forward for the next event ! Drift On!
